The historic site offers three historic buildings of significance – the Jones Log Barn Living History Center, Revolutionary War General Louis Lebègue Duportail house and the c.1792 Federal Barn. Duportail House and the Federal Barn are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A tour of the property brings eighteenth century history and farming to life for its visitors.
The buildings are open to the public free of charge on Sundays, 1 PM -3 PM. The Living History Center is only open on Sundays between April 1 and October 31.
With prior arrangement, personal guided tours are available to the Jones Log Barn Living History Center daily, year-round. Groups up to 30 people can be accommodated. An individual fee applies for all visitors to the Living History Center outside of the regularly scheduled Sunday afternoons.

Field Trip Experience for Students
Our Field Trip Experience for elementary school age students is a cross-curricular, standards-based field trip package created by educators, to build connections between classroom instruction and meaningful on-site learning. It’s a field trip where every stop is a teachable moment.
The field trip includes a visit to the historic Jones Log Barn Living History Center, the 18th century Duportail House which served as Revolutionary War headquarters for General Louis Lebègue Duportail and the c. 1792 Federal Barn. Duportail House and the Federal Barn are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The trip brings eighteenth century history and farming to life outside the classroom.
On-site experienced tour facilitators will travel with the student groups, so you stay on schedule and navigate through the learning stations of the historic buildings safely and smoothly. There is everything from bus drop-off and pick-up locations to bathroom stops and inside and outside areas for lunch breaks.
In short, this educational field trip brings history to life!
